This past year has been so crazy, and I’m just now catching up on posting a bunch of kid session highlights…so without further ado…

Thorman Kids | At-Home Session

I love At-Home sessions, as the kids thrive in their natural environment, and the images always hold that extra special meaning on down the road. I had a blast playing with trains, reading books, and watching these two cute kids cruise around and do what they do. I love my job!

Serafin Family

This was my 5th visit with this fun family, and it is always a blast. These kids love to run around with me. I actually wiped out after jumping over a big log and trying to make a quick turn thereafter. The kids (and parents) thought it was hilarious. I suppose my bellowing fake crying didn’t hurt either. Good times!

It was a hot one for this session, yet we had a blast nonetheless. These kids loved to run around and play…especially once we hit the water. What a couple of cute kiddos, and a wonderful family! I heart my job. =D

Zachary | One Year Old

I made the trip down to Mankato to visit Zachary just one day after his big birthday bash. We just hung out and let Zachary do all of his favorite things around the house. We made a mess in the kitchen, spreading oats all around. Then we made our way over to the books.

Naturally when we were done playing and reading the books we moved on to light sabers and other toys with big brother Max. I really love photographing kids in their everyday environments doing the things they love to do. These kinds of images mean the most in the future.

I also have to add how much of a little buddy Zachary is. He kept crawling all over me, laughing, and trying to wrestle me. What a cool little dood! =D

Yesterday I had the pleasure (about 12 hours) to go through the 50 Kids Photography sessions I shot last year, to pick out my favorites. It seemed to be a daunting task at first, but once I got started, it brought back all the good times and laughs I got to share with these awesome kiddos and their parents. What a year!

I love chasing kids around and having fun with them, but the very best part of my job is getting the awesome feedback from the parents. I’ve heard the most amazingly heartwarming words from my clients this past year, and it means the world to me. Thanks for letting me run around and have a blast with your kids and for giving me the opportunity to –not only do what I love– but to bring you guys so much joy as well. That’s what I call a win-win situation.

Tina & Derek Engagement Session

Tina & Derek are an awesome pair, and my kind of client. They are laid back, smart, funny, and deeply in love. They’re currently living in the Twin Cities but grew up in Hudson, WI. The two of them met through mutual acting friends, and Derek ended up asking Tina out at Knoke’s Candy Store, where Tina worked in High School. We thought it’d be fun to retrace their early roots, and story, and shoot back in Hudson. We even made it back to Tina’s folks place and got to run around on their beautiful property, during sunset, and have some fun with their dog Lucy. Looking forward to their big day for sure…

The Jansen’s and I had a beautiful day to run around at Holz Farm Park. Mark is one of my best buds…we actually went to kindergarten together. I always enjoy all my shoots but when it’s with people you are close to, it means even more to deliver pictures that you know they will cherish forever.
