I’ve been traveling and shooting away, all across the country, this past month. I shot a really cool engagement session at Minnehaha Falls before I left to shoot a destination engagement session in Hawaii. I also made stops in Las Vegas, Lake Havasu, and finally Orlando. Wanted to share a few of those images, and will have a ton more to share soon. =D

2013 Bride’s Choice Award & PDN Magazine Feature on Eco-Friendly Wedding Photographers

I just got word that A Frame Forward Photography won the prestigious 2013 Bride’s Choice Award from WeddingWire, recognizing the top 5% of wedding professionals nationwide.

I’m also honored to be featured in the current issue of PDN (Photo District News) magazine, in their 2013 Focus on Weddings Guide that is also being printed as a stand alone resource for couples. The focus of the piece is on eco-friendly wedding photographers. I was excited to see that they used an image of one of my favorite couples for the table of contents. Jess & Joe | Stillwater, MN Wedding

Jess & Joe were such a great couple to work with. I cannot say enough good things about these two people. They got hitched at the Outing Lodge in beautiful Stillwater, MN. They are huge movie fans and had a lot of fun incorporating some superhero and Star Wars elements into their day. This was a day filled with good people, good times, and lots of love. So cool! =D

Thorman Kids | At-Home Session

I love At-Home sessions, as the kids thrive in their natural environment, and the images always hold that extra special meaning on down the road. I had a blast playing with trains, reading books, and watching these two cute kids cruise around and do what they do. I love my job!

Beth & Mike | Louisville Swamp Engagement Session

Beth found me googling around the Interwebs looking for “eco-friendly” photographers. She loved my work and we set up a meeting. Now, I truly enjoy working with people from all walks of life, but it’s always a little extra special for me when I share many of the same values with my clients. We chatted about eco-friendly vendors, local & organic caterers, etc. It was a great meeting and I had high hopes of having the honor to shoot their big day. Meanwhile, Mike was off living and working as a fishing guide in Alaska…must be rough right?

Needless to say I was ecstatic when they chose me as their photographer. We pushed out the engagement session until Mike returned from Alaska, and they scoped out a really cool place for the session. They chose Louisville Swamp in the Minnesota Valley State Recreation Area for their location, and what a cool place this is. We hiked a good 3-4 miles during our session on a beautiful Sunday afternoon. Thanks to them, I now have another awesome location (and some new secret spots) to use with my other clients. Thanks guys!

Beth & Mike have an awesome wedding planned for next October at Camrose Hill Farm in Stillwater, MN. I am definitely looking forward to that one.

Funny side note: One of the first things Beth told me was that her & Mike were not photogenic people. Take a peek at these and tell me if you agree. ;-)

Katie & Patrick | Red Wing Engagement Session

I always enjoy traveling, and got to take a little road trip for this one. Katie & Patrick spent a good chunk of their lives growing up in beautiful Red Wing, MN. It was only fitting (and fun) to take it back to their roots for their e-sesh. Patrick’s family actually has owned Josephson’s Clothing store in Red Wing for decades. We actually started our shoot there as it’s a neat store with lots of character. Katie & Patrick were a ton of fun, and I am very excited, and honored, to be shooting their big day next year.

Funny side note: I was famished after our session and looking for a good place to eat. I stumbled upon “Fiesta Mexicana” to grab a quick bite before driving back to the cities. Low and behold Katie & Patrick, along with their parents, come walking through the door shortly after me. They invited me over to eat and informed me that this was their absolute favorite restaurant in Red Wing, and after our fun/funny dinner together I could see why. =D
